Kerala Assembly pays tributes to Karunakaran
Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 27 (PTI) Kerala Assembly today paid rich tributes to former state chief minister and veteran Congress leader K Karunakaran, who passed away last week, and adjourned for the day as a mark of respect.
In his reference, Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan said Karunakaran was a leader who was admired by all people irrespective of political affiliations.
His contribution to the development of the state and also as a trade union activist, parliamentarian and an administrator would be remembered for ever, Achuthanandan said.
The 93-year-old leader, a four-time chief minister of the state, died at a hospital here on December 23 after prolonged illness.
Karunakaran’s practical approach towards development contributed to the growth of the state, state Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said.
