CITU to take out march on Parliament next month
Nashik, Jan 11 (PTI) Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) today said that it would organise a huge march of labourers to the Parliament on February 23 to protest the Centre’s anti-labourer policies.
The four-day-long General Council Meeting of CITU ended here today.
CITU’s national general secretary Tapan Sen told reporters that a huge march of the labourers from all over the country will be taken out in the national capital on February 23.
Sen described UPA government as “agent of the corporate”.
During the meeting, CITU appealed to the working classes to carefully watch the response of the government to their demands in its budget proposals, and organise massive demonstrations all over the country, if the government fails to deliver.
It also expressed concern about growing influence of United States on Indian policy makers following President Barak Obama’s visit to India.
About four hundred CITU delegates attended the meeting.
