Teachers against tuition curbs
The Union Government’s proposal to ban private tuition by teachers of all boards has enraged many private school teachers who feel that they would be deprived of a vital part of their regular income if the ban is given effect to.
Teachers argue that they are not employees of corporate houses and they go for private tuitions to augment their incomes. A senior teacher said, “If this decision is implemented the nest generation would hesitate to take up teaching as a profession”. In fact the state government despite it’s intention to ban private practice by government doctors and tuition by teachers has so far drawn a blank.
