42 day strike called off in Telangana
Strike by Telangana employees was called off on Monday night. The strike ends after a 42-day standoff between the Deputy Chief Minister and Telangana Employees Joint Action Committee (TEJAC). TEJAC said, the Government accepted almost our demands and we have decided to withdraw our strike temporarily.
More than four lakh employees participated in this struggle to create new state of Telangana.
Government assured to the TEJAC, a committee has been constituted to monitor implementation of Government order 610 relating to repatriation of employees belonging to other regions of the state.
TEJAC Leader Mr.Kothandaraman said that in case of the accepted demands will not be implemented, the strike will begin again in the region.
