Central Government employees stage agitation

Central Government employees stage agitation on 8.11.2011

Employees of the Central Government staged a demonstration here in front f the Memorial Hall, Chennai on Tuesday in support of their demands. The demonstration was led by Central Trade Unions, said M.Duraipandiyan, General Secretary of the confederation. Central and State Government employees, Railway Employees, Insurance company employees and Teachers, Bank, Telecom employees will take part in the agitation.

The main demands are withdrawal of the Central Government’s New Pension Scheme and fix their minimum salary should be Rs.10000.

To press its ten-point charter of demands, including the price rise of essential commodities should be controlled and to implement welfare laws of Government employees, said Tamil Nadu Maha sammelana General Secretary Durai Pandiyan.

He added, all Tamil Nadu representatives of major Trade Unions and Federations leader, employees of Central Government, Tachers, BSNL employees, Insurance employees and Railway employees are participating in the agitation scheduled today(8.11.2011) at Memorial Hall, Chennai.
