Extension of concession for travel by air to visit NER–Dopt order

LTC by Air to NER 2012CCS (LTC) Rules, 1988 — Relaxation for travel by air to visit NER – Dopt order.

The Department of Personnel and Training has published an office memorandum today on its website related to extension of the relaxation for travel by air to visit North East Region.

Government has decided to allow to travel by air to North East Region areas like Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura etc., up to 30th April 2014 on LTC, in other words the period is extended further for two more years beyond 1.5.2012.

The same type of order will be expected to extend the concession for travel by air to visit Jammu & Kashmir also. The concession period has been extended already for two years and it will end on 17th June 2012.

OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject:- CCS (LTC) Rules, 1988 — Relaxation for travel by air to visit NER.

The undersigned is directed to refer to this Department O.Ms of even No. dated 02.05.2008 and 20.4.2010 on the subject mentioned above and to say that the relaxation for LTC travel to visit North Eastern Region under CCS (LTC) Rules, 1988 contained in the O.M. dated 02.5.2008 is extended further for two more years beyond 1st May, 2012.

OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: CCS (LTC) Rules, 1988 – Visit to Andaman & Nicobar Islands instead of Home Town LTC and travel by air from Kolkata or Chennai to Port Blair and back – relaxation thereof.

The undersigned is directed to say that in relaxation of rule 8 of the CCS (LTC) rules, 1988, the Government have now decided to allow all eligible Central Government employees to avail LTC to visit Andaman & Nicobar Islands instead of their home town in their entitled mode and class of travel. It has also been decided in relaxation of rule 12 of the said rules to permit all Group A and B Government servants to avail this facility by air economy (Y) class on national carrier only from Kolkata or Chennai to Port Blair and back and allow air fare reimbursement accordingly.

2. These orders shall be in operation for a period of six months from the date of issue.

3. In their application to the staff serving in the Indian Audit & Accounts Department, these orders issue after consultation with the Comptroller & Auditor General of India.
