Interest rate on General Provident Fund (GPF)

The Government of West Bengal has decided to issue 8.6% interest for the funds of General Provident Fund.

For the subscribes to the General Provident Fund and other similar funds under the administrative control of the West Bengal Government shall carry interest at the rate of eight per cent for the period from 1.4.2011 to 30.11.2011 and 8.6 per cent w.e.f. 1.12.2011.

The funds concerned are…
General Provident Fund (West Bengal Service)
Contributory Provident Fund (West Bengal)
Provident Fund maintained under the West Bengal Non-Govt. Educational Institutions and Local authorities (CPFE) Act, 2983.
Any other Provident Fund maintained in the State Accounts with approval of this Govt.
