  1. I find that the online calculator for the TNEB bill shows more amount in rupees for the Bi-monthly Domestic unit consumed. Example for 650 units consumed in Bi-monthly : 1 to 200 units (200×2) =Rs.400/- + 201 to 500 (300×3) =Rs.900 + 501 to 600 (150×5.65) =Rs.847.50 + Fixed charges Rs.40 = Rs.2187.50
    Where as the online calculator indicates for the Bi-monthly 650 units consumed for Domestic purpose as Rupees 2703/- which is Rs.515.50 more than the real calculation as per the New Tarrif which is : 1 to 200 units @ Rs.2/- per uniyt, 201 to 500 units @ Rs.3?- per unit and 501 to amount consumed @ Rs.5.65/- Hence the online calculator needs to be corrected.

    • Online calculator is correct only.
      for 650 units
      0-200 Rs 3 ———–> 200*3 =600
      201-500 Rs4 ———-> 300*4=1200
      above500 Rs5.75 —–> 150*5.75= 862.5
      for 650 units 600+1200+862.5+40(fixed charge) = Rs 2702.5
