Granting of Child Care Leave to Defence Industrial Female Employees

It is a welcome decision, today Central has decided to grant of Child Care Leave to Civilian Female Industrial employees working in Defence Establishments. The leave scheme is already implemented and granting to all Central Government women employees from September 2008. In the same departments, non industrial women employees are availing the CCL till now. But this facility has been denied past three years to industrial employees. Now the disparity of industrial and non-industrial has been cleared. The other conditions remain unchanged.

The intention of the 6th CPC in recommending Child Care Leave for women employees to take care of their children at the time of need. If they are having minor children may be granted CCL for a maximum period of two years i.e. 730 days during their entire service for taking care of upto two children. The children upto the age of eighteen years and above, will not be admissible to avail the CCL.
