All India Consumer Price Index Numbers for Industrial Workers on base 2001=100 for the month of June, 2008
All India Consumer Price Index Number for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) on base 2001=100 for the month of June, 2008 increased by 1 point and stood at 140 (one hundred and forty).
During June, 2008, the index recorded maximum increase of 5 points each in Srinagar and Warrangal centres, 4 points each in Madurai and Guntur centres, 3 points each in Ranchi-Hatia, Hyderabad, Labac-Silcher, Salem, Vishakhapathnam, Darjeeling, Kodarma, Ahmedabad, Chhindwara and Chennai centres, 2 points in 27 centres and 1 point in 28 centres, while in the remaining 9 centres the index remained stationary.
The maximum increase of 5 points in Srinagar centre is mainly due to increase in the prices of Rice, Wheat Atta, Mustard Oil, Poultry, Milk Cow, Vegetable & Fruit items and Cooking Gas etc., in Warrangal centre the increase of 5 points is mainly due to increase in the prices of Rice, Groundnut Oil, Ginger, Cooking Gas, Medicine (Allopathic) and Petrol etc. The increase of 4 points in Madurai centre is due to increase in the prices of Rice, Milk Cow, Onion, Vegetables, Cooking Gas, Medicine (Allopathic) and Petrol etc. while in Guntur centre this increase is due to Rice, Snack Saltish, Snack Sweet, Tea (Readymade) and Medicine (Allopathic) etc.

The point to point rate of inflation for the month of June, 2008 is 7.69% as compared to 7.75% in May, 2008.
