Bengal announces bonus, ex-gratia, festival advance this year
The West Bengal Government today announced payment of ad hoc bonus, ex-gratia and festival advance for the current year to its employees, teachers and employees of municipal and panchayat bodies, besides pensioners.
The state government employees with revised emolument upto Rs 18,000 per month as on March 31, 2010, as against upto Rs 16,000 last year, would be allowed ad hoc bonus at the rate of Rs 1,000 per head as in the last year, state’s Finance Minister Asim Dasgupta said. Similarly the teachers, employees of government-aided educational institutions, employees of municipal and panchayat bodies with same eligible criteria would get Rs 1,000 per head as in the last year, Dasgupta said. Those drawing above Rs 18,000 but upto Rs 26,000 per month as on March 31, 2010 would be eligible to get festival advance at the rate of Rs 1,000 per head as in the last year, he said.
The state government pensioners and pensioners of government-aided institutes, panchayat and municipalities, whose basic pension plus relief on pension as on March 31, 2010 did not exceed Rs 18,000, would be allowed ex-gratia at the rate of Rs 400 per head, he added. Altogether 14 lakh employees and pensioners would be benefited froml this, Dasgupta said.
