Lawyers’ strike: HC issues notice to Raj govt, agitators
Jaipur, Sep 21 (PTI) The Rajasthan High Court today issued notices to agitating lawyers and the state government on a petition seeking to declare illegal the ongoing strike by advocates across the state.
The lawyers are on a strike for almost a month alleging irregularities in the Rajasthan Higher Judicial Services examination (RHJS) 2010.
While considering a PIL in which the petitioner had argued that the lawyers had no right to hamper the judicial system, a division bench sought explanation from nine entities including the state government and the agitators.
It also issued notices to the Bar Council of Rajasthan which has allegedly supported the strike and Gopal Subramaniam, Chairman of Bar Council of India.
The bench had earlier asked petitioner Pradeep Lata Mathur to name the leaders of advocates spearheading the agitation.
