Employment guarantee scheme is weak in Kerala: Ravi
Palakkad (Kerala), Oct 10 (PTI) Union Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi today criticised the CPI(M)-led LDF government’s way of implementing the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme in Kerala.
“The state government policy is to weaken the employment guarantee scheme,” Ravi, here to campaign for the coming civic polls, told reporters.
Alleging that the LDF government was a failure on all fronts, Ravi said that Centrally sponsored development schemes were being implemented in the name of the state government.
On the ongoing row over operation of lotteries of other states in Kerala, Ravi said people here are intelligent enough to know who was right and wrong.
The lottery issue has kicked up a major controversy in Kerala as Congress has accused the LDF government of helping promoters of other state lotteries, who are allegedly siphoning off huge amounts and evading tax.
