Haryana govt constitutes State Higher Education Council
Chandigarh, Dec 8 (PTI) The Haryana government has constituted the State Higher Education Council (SHEC) to advise it in matters related to higher education and planning.
SHEC has been constituted under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister and a notification in this regard was issued yesterday, an official spokesman said here today.
The council would advise on measures to be taken for enhancing access, inclusion and equity in higher education and suggest the government measures to remove imbalance in higher education and research, he said.
The official further said SHEC would also review and coordinate the implementation of policies in all higher education institutions.
It would also advise on funding for higher education, the course of reforms to rejuvenate higher education and research, and also on promotion of a culture of quality and excellence.
Haryana govt to organise yoga classes
Chandigarh, Dec 9 (PTI) Haryana Government will organise yoga classes for male students belonging to the Scheduled Caste in the age group of six to 14 years in various government schools of the state, a spokesman of the Sports and Youth Affairs Department has said.
Yoga training teachers would be appointed to impart the training over a period of three months in all the government schools of all districts barring Bhiwani, Sirsa, Karnal and Hisar, he said.
Each teacher would train at least 100 boys from the Scheduled Caste and would be paid an honorarium of Rs 5,000 per month, the spokesman said.
After completion of the training, the students would be awarded certificates, he added.
