Introduction of automated system in the allotment of hostel accommodation.
With a view to provide for choices of the applicant for individual suited in the allotment of hostel accommodation, it has been decided to introduce automated system of allotment w.e.f. 01.12.2010.
For this purpose only online applications will be accepted henceforth. Every applicant will get his/her account by filling up the required application form online. After completing the process, online, the applicant will have to take a print out of his/her application along with account details etc. and get it forwarded from his/her office and send to Directorate of Estates for activation of his/her account. On receipt of the filled up application duly forwarded by the controlling office of the applicant, his/her account will be activated by sending him/her a registration number (which will work as his/her ID) and a password through sms/e-mail.
An applicant will be able to operate of his/her account and make required changes in his/her preference of choice, as per sample enclosed in the annexure only after receipt of his/her registration number and login password through sms/e-mail.
All the existing applicants will also be sent login ID and password through sms/e-mail to enable them to operate their accounts online.
Both the existing and new applicants will have to indicate their choices as per drop down menu on the screen.
All the suites falling vacant up to the last day of a month, would be displayed on the website of the Directorates of Estates (estates.nic.in) for allotment during the coming month. The applicant will have to choose/prefer suites of their choice during 1st to 9th of the month and allotment will be made on 10th of the month. During 1st to 9th of the month, an applicant can revise/modify his/her choices as and when required.
Only those applicants will be considered for allotment on 10th of the each month whose accounts has been activated in the preceding or earlier months.
The concept of technical acceptance has been done away with. An applicant will have to accept the allotment of a suite of his/her choice failing which he/she will be debarred for a period of one year.
A particular suite choosen/preferred by an applicant will be allotted to him/her if he/she happens to be the senior most applicant for the particular suite.
All the existing and new applicants are also requested to furnish their e-mail ID and mobile number to the Directorate of Estates urgently, to enable the Directorate of Estates to activate their account. However, those who have already got their accounts activated need not send e-mail ID and mobile number.
