Air Journey for medical treatment, may not be allowed in all circumstances.
It has been decided by the Government of West Bengal that the state government employees are allowed to take medical treatment in eight speciality hospitals outside the state under the WB Health Scheme. Accordingly, an office memorandum has been issued by Finance Department of West Bengal vide their No.9226-F (MED) dated 26-09-2011.
Now, it is also clarified that cost of train journey for medical attendance and treatment in speciality hospitals outside the State with one attendant, both ways, may be reimbursed as per entitled class of travelling allowance rules. In addition to guide that the air journey is not admissible unless ti is essentilly advised by the attending physician of the speciality hospital under unavoidable circumstances.
