Union Cabinet approved 7% additional Dearness allowance to Central Government employees
The most expected news from Central Government employees and pensioners, the Union Cabinet Committee today gave his approval to release an additional instalment of Dearness allowance to Central Government employees and pensioners by 7%, from 51% to 58%. Certainly the decision makes more delight and benefit over 50 lakh serving employees and 38 lakh central pensioners. The increase of dearness allowance will be applicable from 1st July, 2011.
The increased Dearness allowance amount for the month of September and the arrears for the month of July and August will be paid in cash.
Everybody knows the Dearness allowance is increasing by the two additional instalment, which is given twice a year, on January and July. Within eighteen months, from Jan-10 to Jul-11 the Dearness allowance has been increased more than 30%. The essential commodity price hike only the determination of increasing the additional Dearness allowance to Central staff.
