MBBS, BDS allocation list to be released today
The Directorate of Medical Education has announced that the seat allocation list for various MBBS and BDS courses will be released today, and the counseling sessions will commence on June 19.
There are about 20 Government medical colleges all over Tamilnadu, including the Madras Medical College, Kilpauk Medical College, and Stanley Medical College. Of these, 2,257 seats are allocated to the Government. The Government also allocates 780 seats in the seven self-financing medical colleges.
BDS: There are 85 seats in the Government dental college. There are 23 self-financing BDS colleges and the Government was given 1432 seats to allocate this time. Admission process for students to the various MBBS and BDS courses for the academic year 2015-16 began at Kilpauk Medical College on May 11. 35,667 applications were submitted by students seeking admission to these courses.
Second List: Based on their scores in the Class XII exams, and on various reservation categories, the second list was prepared, which was released by Ms. Geetha Lakshmi, the Director of Medical Education, on the 11th of this month. The second list begins with the series 7532186345.
Regarding the seat allocation list, Ms. Geetha Lakshmi said, “The allocation list for medical courses is ready. The list will be released this evening. As per the orders of the Madras High Court, the first phase of admissions and counseling will be most likely held between June 19 and 25.”
