Identity card compulsory for travelling in omni buses
From now on, in addition to proper tickets, you must also have proper identity documents to travel in omni buses.
The incidents of thefts have greatly increased in omni buses; so have accidents. As a result, passengers are travelling with a sense of fear these days. A number of measures are now being taken in order to improve the situation.
Omni bus operators have announced that Passengers shall henceforth be allowed to travel in the buses only if they possess proper identity documents. If, due to unavoidable circumstances, the passenger does not possess such documents, he/she shall have to provide details like their mobile phone numbers and addresses. Only then will they be allowed to travel.
New fire-fighting equipment: New and modern fire-fighting equipment have been installed in the omni buses to handle fire accidents. One need not open or spray these bottle-shaped devices. All one has to do is just throw them at the place where the fire is burning. The fire will come under control. Omni bus drivers and conductors were given training in this technique recently. The container, costing Rs.2300 each, has three kinds of fire controlling agents. Both the drivers will have these devices.
Surveillance cameras: Surveillance cameras have been placed in 10 percent of the buses in order to prevent theft of passenger goods. The remaining buses will soon be equipped with these cameras.
